I was just sitting alone, lost in myself.... It was then that a very young, handsome looking guy entered the class.... He was having the mike system in his hands... He wished good morning to all of us.... I was awestruck... Is he our teacher,,, is he going to teach us.... !!! Then he wrote on the board with the marker his name "Anmol tak"... Whatever he wrote next was a total surprise for me.... "IIT-K, Aeronautical engg, AIR-90"... Wow!!! That AIR was just breathtaking.... He was 2007 pass out....
He was too young and too qualified to teach..... He was one of the youngest teacher at bansals... It was later during the year that i came to know that there were 2 other batchmates of his who were taking regular lectures at bansal....
It was just his way of speaking that drowned him... He fumbled while speaking... He started off with a 2 min intro about bansals..... He asked who all were in EML that year... It was then that i came to know that X11 was an all-eml batch... Half of whom were having rank within 20000 like me... In his first lecture he started off with Number system,, All those symbols, definitions .... I knew them all... It was just the beginning but he was teaching well..... He once or twice strayed away from the topic... But as students started enjoying more he shouted "come back" and started teaching again.... It was the end of time..... The one and half hour class was over.... 15 minutes break before the next class.....
I just sat on my bench while most of the students went outside to take a stroll and the famous samosa of bonapetÃt that was made available at every floor along with patties, frooti and cans..... I couldn't think of getting up.... It was all so new for me,.. So, i just went through my notes making sure i understood everything...
next class was going to be of physics.. i knew it was some "Anurag mishra".. just theb=n he entered the class with a flock of other students following him.. he was having that father-type personality.. but he too looked pretty handsome and well dressed..
he told that he was from HBTI kanpur and was teaching at BCPL for last 11 years.. he started off with "din=mensional analysis".. he asked us which way would we prefer to be taught,, completing the syllabus early to give remaining time to revision or take the syllabus real slow with all type of explanations and examples..
many students went in favour of revision strategy and a very few inclusive of me went for option 2.. he then explained that option 1 was better and students agreed...
so we started.. the class was getting a li'l boring for me as there was nothing new for me to learn that day.. my first impression about him was not even close to satisfactory.. but later on in the year the situation was that i bunked HOD's class to attend his lectures..
the class was over finally... i was one of the last few to leave the class.. i texted everyone else to meet me so that we all go back to the hostel together.. but there classes were not yet over.. so,, i decided to go back alone....
i knew i wasn't going to find dad back at the hostel.. he must have left by 10.. after crossing that crowded road no.1 ,, i reached that long pedestrian lane.. i called dad.. he was in the train.. he just asked me how i was feeling after that very first day at the class.. i told him almost everything in brief.. about teachers, students, class... then, after talking to him, i called home to talk to mom.. she also asked about everything.. after disconnecting the call i began to have a good look at the things around me.. i was half way to the hostel . i noticed that there was a temple with mahindra renault showroom to it's right.. at a distance i could see the construction work of a new city mall going on.. now i took a sharp right and entered the Rajeev gandhi nagar.. i noticed a pit being dug out.. it was the site for some malkhera resort.. it was to deep to look into.. in addition to that the pit digging work continued till the end of m stay in kota... there were huge caterpillar machines digging the pit and huge gigantic rock pieces were being taken out of the pit..
then there was this offensive smelling sharp left,, where whole of the RGN's garbage was dumped.. then after there was again a sharp right and the series of hostels began... first was some "kund kund kahan", there "mundra's gals hostel"... there were hostels and more hostels and even more hostels.... i crossed "motion iit-jee",, famous because of it's physics faculty,, NV sir.. many of the bansal's students enrolled there after the diwali break for crash course in physics..
then after a left turn was the beauty... my APB.. i took the keys from the warden , manoj.. then i went straight into the room.. i was too tired after that first day.... i waited for bubu for another half an hour.. he came alongwith the other two... we all had lunch and then we talked about our respective batches and teachers.. they talked of girls as well but i wasn't able to participate in that discussion then.. i was too meek to get into all this back then..i didn't even notice a single girl that day..
later in the eve,, me and bubu went out to the market in "mahavir nagar" to buy some notebooks and few other things..the market was full of students.. the mobile shops and cyber cafe were full of them.. aroun our own hostel.,, there were a lot of girls hostel.. rather,, most of them were girls.... and they could be easily seen in the hostel balconies, roofs, streets, markets, juice centres and not to forget the panipuri stalls.. while coming back,, i noticed the "Vibrant academy".. it was famous because of it's world class faculty.. all bansal's hod left that year altogether to establish this new coaching institute..
back at the hostel i did some of the homework.. then we all had dinner ,, we talked for a while and then we all dozed off to sleep..
the next day my lectures were to start at 7.45 am.. rest of them had their classes starting at 9.30am.... so,, i had to go to the college all alone.....
